Packing hand luggage

I'm slightly renowned in my family for over packing. I convince myself that I need to take everything I look at with me. However when I'm running away to Europe for a few days I really can't justify taking more than a little suitcase and I don't want to jinx it but I think I may have got the whole 'light packing' thing down!

I'm going on what I hope will be a little snowy city trip tomorrow for four days and I think I may have packed just right...

1x walking boots
1x converse
3x socks
2x jeans
5x pants
3x t-shirts (one is a thermal polo neck)
2x jumpers

I have also gone for a matching cable knit scarf and hat and a little faux-fur headband thing (quite sure these will have a proper name but I have no idea what it is!)

I have also, of course, stuffed as many toilettries as possible in my little wash bag and thrown a book and a travel diary in for good measure! If you fancy seeing a few snapshots of the trip while it's happening have a little follow on here!

(Is there something you couldn't travel without? Or maybe you have a top hand luggage tip? Let me know in the comments below!)

  1. I need to take a leaf out of your book as I haven't mastered the art of packing light yet - I like to have options so always take way too many clothes and a different pair of shoes for the daytime and evening haha! Last time I went away for the weekend I had to throw some toiletries away as they wouldn't fit in the little plastic bags my boyfriend and I had haha! I hope you have a lovely trip wherever you're going :)

    1. Oh shoes were always the thing that got me! I would take so so many, for any possible occasion! I'm okay with toiletries but always, without fail, have to sit on my suitcase to close it! x

  2. You've done alright! I normally would pack 3x that amount for a 4 day trip, so if I was you I would be very proud of your packing!

  3. This is soooo useful! My packing tip is to always take a necklace or two to transform an outfit!

  4. I think the key to packing is packing versatile items that go with many different items. :) I was packing today for a short trip I am taking back up to DUBLIN for a few days before I head back to Uni.

    1. You'll get it sorted, will be chilly so just take layers! It's such a lovely little bag, the perfect size. I have a post about Amsterdam on here somewhere if you'd like some tips :) x

  6. I love this! I love packing! haha I don't go away to often but I could literally pack just for the fun of it. I always end up with something that I don't use but I'm a big 'just incase' person :P

    1. I love packing too! But the unpacking... I have been known to have a suitcase full of clothes lying around for quite sometime after a holiday... Oops! x
