#bloggerswhoyoga

Every year I make a few New Year resolutions and every year I completely fail at them. So this year I'm going for goals. I'm going to set myself a few goals that I can work towards without the pressure of feeling like I have failed if I let it slip every now and then.

The one thing I do tell myself every year however is to drink more water and do more exercise. The classics right? Well after a fabulous yoga class at a Bloggeration workshop I started to think that yoga could be the thing for me. And after talking to a few more bloggers one night it seemed that yoga was a goal for most of us. And lo #bloggerswhoyoga was born!

The King & Co : Slap & Pickle vs. Dogtown Popup

First off please excuse the seriously un-catchy title, could't think of anything witty as I have spent the last half an hour editing pictures of burgers and hotdogs and all my mind can focus on is food!

I can't actually remember how I found out about the Bloggeration events that Sarah was running but as soon as I did emails were sent and routes were worked out.

Afternoon Tea at Claridge's

I love a good scone. No I mean I really really love them. No scrap all of that, I LOVE clotted cream. Phew, that feels better.

But in all seriousness when my wonderful housemate invited me for afternoon tea at Claridge's clotted cream was my first thought.

Five Happy Things #5

It's been a little while since my last five happy things post and a lot of happy things have happened in-between but I will try and pick the best ones for you!

1) Let's start with the most important day of the year! My 22nd birthday! I was spoilt rotten this year and had such a lovely day. A hair cut, a delicious lunch with my family, a bake off final party and then a few days later a macaroon making class. Oh and a surprise breakfast and some beautiful gifts. I felt like a very lucky girl.

Corfe Castle

A few weeks ago my fella 'N' and I set off on a little trip to Dorset to get out of the city and breathe some fresh air. With our National Trust passes at the ready, a tent in the boot and a vague plan we set off!

N has a fascination with castles so first stop for us was Corfe Castle. We parked the car and winded out way through the wood, up and down and over rivers until we emerged with a view of what once would have been a spectacularly regal home.

Borough Market Haul

So, a haul post. I kind of always assumed I wouldn't do one of these but after such a successful day in borough market a few days ago with my Dad I couldn't help myself! So here it goes, my Borough Market haul...

I Amsterdam

In the Autumn of last year my sister and I had a few days free so we decided to head to the Netherlands to see what Amsterdam had to offer. Turns out it's a lot.

We landed early in the morning and set off to our beautiful hotel, Hotel V Frederiksplein, to dump our bags and head out to explore. We found a little cafe called 'De Bakkerswinkel (insert childish chuckle here) and stopped for chai teas and a HUGE slice of the most delicious appeltaart.

Thank You Summer

Right. October. Where did you come from? Summer seems like such a long time ago but London has given us a few gorgeous days recently which got me thinking about the last few brilliant months. So here’s a little round up of the best bits (in no particular order):

Harry Potter Studios
I was given two tickets as an 18th birthday present from my brother which for some bizarre reason I hadn’t used yet so dates were booked, movies were watched and books were re-read and we were off. The fella and I are both total HP geeks so we were in our element! I was going to write a blog post about it but I just don’t want to ruin the excitement for anyone who’s not been yet. I will say however that we were there for nearly five hours and every single second was fantastic! (Fan girl rant over.)

Get ready Fresher...

If you're just about to head to uni you're probably going though one or more of these feelings: scared, nervous, excited, confused at how you're whole life fits inside your parents' car, wondering just how much fancy dress you should take and also if taking a slow cooker will make you appear boring. (Just for the record slow cookers are a wonderful invention and I don't regret taking mine one bit!)

I felt all of these things before I headed off to uni along with fear of being/feeling super old after my two gap years. Nevertheless you get in the car, you drive for a few hours then, in my case at least, your uni halls mess up and you queue outside on a busy London road along with the other 800 people trying to move in for four hours. No biggie.

So I've had a think and come up with what I reckon are my top 10 tips for being a fresher...

Amy's Kitchen Summer

Flowers and food are two of my favourite things. So when I saw that Amy's Kitchen were hosting a series of four events over the summer called 'Amy's Kitchen Summer' and I had already missed the first three I just knew I had to find a way to get to the last one!

Life on Rarotonga

I recently spent just over a week on the beautiful Cook Island, Rarotonga. I was ready for sun, sand, a blue blue sea, planting myself on the beach with a good book and just generally being a bit anti-social and recovering from my exams. However the island had a slightly different plan for me...

#MyChocBloggers

I have been a bad blogger. Nay an almost non-existent-blog-posts blogger. A combination of exams, moving flats and holidaying completely distracted me but things are almost back to normal now and I have a fair few holiday snaps to share with you. So we'll pop back to the beginning of April, to when I should have posted this, and act like the three months in-between were a lot busier than they perhaps were!

When Kate from CoffeeSugarLemonade text me a few months ago and told me about this event I got myself on the list as quickly as I could then looked forward to it all during lent!

A group of us bloggers all got together on a dreary morning in Hackney and proceeded to learn about, make and most importantly, eat lots of chocolate. MyChocolate was set up 12 years ago by the inspiring Hannah Saxton and has since gone from strength to strength.

Brioche Covent Garden

Disclaimer: I am going to lose my cool completely about how much I love this restaurant. Please also excuse the photo quality, I wasn't planning on doing the 'blogger thing' so only had my phone with me but I couldn't resist.

A few nights ago I organised to have a catch up with some old school friends at a little pop-up I had seen on Instagram. I didn't really have any expectations other than a yummy burger so was thrilled with how the meal turned out.

Easter Lambs

On Tuesday afternoon, after a brownie baking session I had the complete joy of heading over to our family friend's farm to have a little look at some lambs. When we got there it turned out that instead of just getting to stroke a lamb or two, like we thought we would be, my mum and I were actually going on a little tour of the farm to check up on the ewes who were expecting.

Monday Morning Cookies

Just as a little pre-note before the biscuiting commences please Follow my blog with Bloglovin (but be warned Bloglovin' is a place that will steal hours of your life, even more so than Pinterest...)

On Thursday evening I made some butter biscuits so I could play with my new cutters. I then proceeded to eat at least one biscuit with every meal, breakfast included. This got me thinking about making some breakfast biscuits or something I could scoff in the morning and still feel wholesome. And lo these ridiculously easy breakfast biscuit/cookie/cakey type things were created.

This recipe is loosely based on Vicki's recipe but I've made a few little additions.

Five Happy Things #2

1. This banana bread. I know I've already mentioned it in the last happy things post but seeing as the delight of it carried on well into this week it wouldn't be right not to include it! I was going to do a recipe post but I just followed Joy's recipe exactly so it's easier for us all if I just point you in her direction...

Paris is always a good idea.

As I mentioned in Sunday's post my dad and sister planned a little trip to Paris for the four of us. After checking we were all free and my last minute dash back to London to fetch my passport we found ourselves at St.Pancras ready for the wonders and weather Paris had in store for us.

Smack Deli

Yesterday afternoon as I was sat in my room procrastinating from getting my stuff ready to go home for a few days I got a text from my sister which simply said "Lobster rolls?"

Suddenly I was up and out, marching towards the tube station and making my way to Bond Street.

This was all great until I remembered that it's Half Term this week so naturally the streets are teeming with tourists. I squished myself onto the tube and dodged my way down Oxford Street to meet my sister outside Smack Deli on Binney Street.

Pull Your Finger Out!

Now I do appreciate that this is a slightly crude name for a first post on a new blog but seeing as I have been talking about starting a blog for TWO YEARS it feels apt. I started writing my first blog on the 9th December 2012 and as much as I would like to link you to it, I can't. I never clicked 'publish'...

So here it goes. A blog to be taken seriously. A blog to actually write posts for and put a little effort into.

Turns out the last two years of my life have easily been the most exciting two years of my life, so while I shall try to post about my life now a little time travel will be in order every so often.

Here we go!
